Further developments in F1 as it begins and ends the second test at Barcelona.
15 February – 21 Feb
Monday, 16th
- Lotus man Gerard Lopez criticizes F1 Management, citing them for being “archaic”. “Why do these potential sponsors never make the leap when they are not really undaunted by the amounts requested in F1? What’s holding them back?” He is frustrated by the poor marketing in F1, and the lack of an official marketing group for the sport.
- Force India have not confirmed Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez as their driving pair for the second test in Barcelona, but confess both drivers will be involved. It seems as though there is still a window for opportunity for German young gun, Pascal Wehrlein.
- McLaren gets up and running for a filming day in Barcelona.
- McLaren’s difficulties have come with thanks to its extreme design and packaging, they have revealed.
Tuesday, 17th
- Further developments are being put into place today on having more powerful engines, bigger tyres and wider chassis types. Ron Dennis says if F1 were to change, its changes would need to be revolutionary, saying “we should change it dramatically and therefore we should change it dramatically for 2017.”
- Marussia has paid its entrance fee for the 2015 and is now running under the name of Manor. Rumour or truth ?
Wednesday, 18th
- As an attempt to make driver identification easier, in-season helmet changes are now banned.
- Wehrlein will test for Force India in the second test at Barcelona.
- Rumours suggest that Aston Martin are in the running to save the stranded Manor race team. Aston Martins are believed to run Mercedes AMG V8 engines.
- Adrian Sutil is reported to have links to get a drive for the Nissan LMP1 in the WEC.
Thursday, 19th (TEST 2, Day 1)
- Susie Wolff begins her day in a Williams during the second test at Barcelona.
- Hamilton is unfit to test on day one due to illness and is replaced by Wehrlein, causing a call up for Sergio Perez.
- Due to immense reliability issues, Honda has had to redesign an ERS component, and need to replace their power unit. Their day has ended after completing just 21 laps.
- Felipe Nasr and Susie Wolff collide going into Turn 5. Both drivers are okay and telemetry seems to indicate that Nasr was at fault.
- Marussia have come out of administration and may return to the grid this year as Manor Racing.

Friday, 20th (TEST 2, Day 2)
- The FIA declares that drivers will not be able to change their helmets during the season. Gone are the days when drivers celebrated special races like Monaco and Singapore.
- Rumours have come up suggesting Renault are interested in buying out a current F1 team, and return to the grid as a full time constructor.
- Ferrari has agreed to supply Manor racing with 2014 spec engines should the fighting team return to the grid this year.

- Fernando Alonso tears of the track between turn 3 and 4 in a bazar accident. His car seems barely damaged besides the lost front wing and broken suspension on the right hand side. He was airlifted to hospital as a precaution.
